Know The Company You Are Dealing With…
The “Certificate of Destruction” as it is commonly referred is an important legal record of
compliance. It does not, however, transfer the responsibility to maintain confidentiality of data
to the contractor. If private information surfaces, you, the generator, stand to lose the most.
You must be certain you are dealing with a reputable company with superior security practices.
The Greatest Risk Occurs When Information Is No Longer In Your Possession…
ShredKS removes this risk by destroying on-site with a “No Touch” process. Unlike other
services, no one sees or touches your materials from time of removal until physical
destruction. The locked containers go directly from your possession to the shredder. Other
types of services sort by hand and often transfer and consolidate paper once inside their
vehicle or back at the plant. You are liable for a process over which you have no control or
ability to oversee.
Not All Shredding Is Destroying…
This may come as news to some, but not all forms of shredding permanently destroy sensitive
information. Strip Cut and Cross Cut equipment does not utilize physical safeguards to prevent
large particles passing through the shredder. This is particularly a problem with non-standard
items such as checks. ShredKS uses a hammermill equipped with a sizing screen to shred
faster (2-3 times faster) and assure the smallest shred size in the industry. Our equipment can
be equipped to meet the most stringent government and military requirements.
